The energy label in Hong Kong classifies products based on their energy efficiency, ranging from Level 1 (most energy-efficient) to Level 5 (least energy-efficient):
o Level 1 (Green): Highest energy efficiency, most energy-saving, recommended for selection.
o Levels 2 and 3 (Yellow): Higher energy efficiency, but still room for improvement.
o Levels 4 and 5 (Red): Lower energy efficiency, more energy-consuming, not recommended for purchase.
2. Calculation of Energy Labels
The energy efficiency index (EEI) is calculated by testing the energy consumption performance of appliances. The EEI score determines which level the product belongs to.
